I already regret even thinking about this one, but have you ever had a planet that you just couldn't hold.. it just keeps getting attacked over and over again? One that was so big and massive and attractive that anyone who sees it is going to go for it? Introduce the death star artifact.. A one shot weapon that you can only use against your own colony.. blows the entire planet up... No more arguing over that puppy!

1) Defend it at all costs (artifacts, guarding)
2) Send a legion alert to defend it
3) If all else fails, let it be. It's a game.

Destroying planets would cause a disturbances in the ecosystem. Blow up all planets.

Here's two ideas:

First, instead of blowing up a planet, how about an artifact that can de-terraform a planet? the cost is a reduction of resources, but isn't that the best deterrent against attackers?
Sinse there is already a terraform artifact the game remains balanced, and if that is not good enough, to increase the chance of terraforming artifacts would not only create balance but make a lot of pilots happy.

Second, how about an artifact to create artificial moons at a planet? Just like how the Star Wars Deathstar was a moon-sized space station? It can ceate extra planet space, as long as the space can only be used for defenses. (which makes sense in-character, as you can't put a surface mine on a space station)

How would you feel if I invade your best planet and make it a sparse planet... disagree :(. Terraform more common = could critically unbalance the game.

As for the blowing up of planets, Dan has yet to reply on that after Noah suggested it. Id want an animation to go with it of course :D (Would be fing awesome!)
